EXCELLENT Based on 107 reviews Jess WalterMay 15, 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Before I spent a day on the Missouri with Montana Guiding Company, I wasn't sure a guided trip was for me. From launch to lunch and again until the take out, Trevor had us reeling in beauties. The man’s a fish whisperer. And most importantly, he handles the fish minimally and with their wellbeing top of mind. With our waterways and fisheries facing hotter, drier summers, amongst a long list of other stressors, this is not unimportant. His energy on the water and care for the river is contagious, and love for what he does and joy in sharing it shows. I showed up with a fairly bad attitude, already having declared myself a lost cause and certain that I'd never kick my bad habit of casting a fly rod like it was a whip, snapping off fly after fly behind me. The fact that I ended the day with all my flies intact, nearly a dozen fish landed, and a smile on my face felt nothing short of miraculous. Even the surprisingly intricate way I managed to tangle my line—and the frequency with which I did it—didn't faze him. (It should have. I would have abandoned ship and swum back if I were him.) Knowing that he takes seasoned anglers out on the water on the regular makes his unflappable patience even more impressive. Added bonuses to an already flawless day were Trevor's curiosity about the natural world (and charming love for ducks), dialed-in planning, beautiful boat, and knack for thoughtful conversation. It felt less like a guided trip and more like fishing with a very knowledgable, very prepared, very fun friend. Consider me a convert—15/10 would book again (and again!)! Trevor not only made my bucket list adventure successful from a fishing standpoint , but his enthusiasm took the experience to a whole new level. The camaraderie that I felt made the trip the best ever. Joe HowardApril 20, 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. What a pro! Trevor is so nice, so funny, and so generous with his years of knowledge. He will put you on big fish, and you'll have a great time with him on the boat. Can't recommend enough. Trevor was a terrific guide, incredibly knowledgable of the river, very patient (with a fly-fishing newbie), organized, and committed to everyone having a good time. And we caught tons of fish! I highly recommend Montana Guiding Company! Jim LearyApril 10, 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Had a wonderful time with Montana Guiding Co. Our guide was Scott and he was fantastic. Learned quite a bit from Scott and he got us into some excellent fish and left me with lifelong memories of fishing Montana. For novice to intermediate level anglers, the difference between catching fish and catching bigger fish depends on the experience, knowledge and skill of the fly fishing guide. Boat control, knowledge of the river and its conditions where big fish might be located, and the skill to coach the guided anglers to position their flies just right to entice a bite, and then to manage the angler’s control of big fish after hookups to get them to the net are traits Trevor Anderson has and demonstrated on our two day fishing trip on the Bitterroot and Clark Fork rivers. Our group had non-stop action and caught a variety of nice sized trout, one nice brown trout (pictured) of which I will never forget! I highly recommend the Montana Guiding Company if you want an excellent fly fishing experience with guides like Trevor! This is our second year of fishing early Spring before run off. We have been pleasantly surprised with our whole experience and success. Trevor is friendly, enthusiastic, ( great knowledge of fish ) and fishing. Great host and Steward of the River. Our group extends a hearty thank you to Trevor Anderson & Co., for two of the best days ever! We pre- booked Spring ‘26’. Heads Up ! Each guide had their own way to approach the river to put us on fish. Even with tough weather conditions, I still had double digit days with the dry fly and nymph rigs. Tracy JamesApril 7, 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. What a fantastic 3 day trip. Trevor and his group, put us on large fish everyday of the trip and treated us like royalty. Good times. Thanks T. Our rivers are freestone rivers which are prone to high water, low water, and different fluctuations in flows and conditions. We adjust meet times, locations, and choose the best possible situation for your Montana fly fishing trip. However, our guides expect to fish rain or shine, and in all water conditions except in the extreme cases of unsafe/unfishable conditions. Your trip deposit is an acknowledgment of this.
